How we came together in love and courage this year

I want to thank you for all that we accomplished together this year. In this difficult season in the world, I look for points of light that offer hope. You are that point of light. Here are glimpses of how we came together this year to practice love, courage, and humanity.

This year, we traveled to 25+ cities to bring electrifying live events to people across the country. In powerful keynotes and inspiring discussions, we reached thousands of people at schools, universities, conferences, houses of worship, and community centers. Everywhere we went, we heard your stories and talked about how to build healthy, multiracial communities anchored in love. In a world in crisis, you are leading the way, and we are by your side.

We were astounded by your brilliance and engagement in our acclaimed community workshops across the U.S. Through stories, embodied inquiry, and thought-provoking conversations, you applied the Revolutionary Love Compass to the challenges in your community. Together we are building the resilience to respond to hate and hardship with moral clarity and courage.

We are thrilled to see so many of you explore our celebrated Learning Hub, featuring teaching videos, lesson plans, artwork, and music. You are using our Educator’s Guide to teach Revolutionary Love in classes and communities — how to be brave with grief, harness rage, return to wonder, reimagine our institutions, and fight for our humanity. You’ve inspired us to create more for you — stay tuned for next year!

Hate crimes in the U.S. are the highest they have been on record. As bloodshed rages abroad, this is a moment to stand against all forms of hate. We can learn from patterns of racial and religious violence in the past. Thank you for exploring our 9/11 Learning Hub  and Remember Oak Creek Learning Hub as essential resources for standing in deep solidarity.

In a hostile climate, we are leading with love in response to the horror in Israel and Palestine. We have been clear and unequivocal about what it means to stand in humanity — to grieve all who have been lost and end the bloodshed so that we can begin the long journey of repair. We are calling for a permanent ceasefire, the release of all hostages, and critical humanitarian aid into Gaza. We met with the leaders of Standing Together, an Israeli-Palestinian grassroots movement for a future of peaceful co-existence, and will continue to amplify their voices. Thank you for using our toolkit and answering our calls to action! Together, courage.

Thank you to all who participated in our National Listening Tour! We learned so much from you. Your voices will guide the coming years of our work! We identified three key themes:

1. People are self-organizing around Revolutionary Love. We have tracked 100+ communities organizing around Revolutionary Love and using our tools across the United States.
2. The compass works. People are using the Revolutionary Love Compass as a moral framework for decision-making, a guide for healing, and a blueprint for how to build communities of care.
3. The movement is growing. It is organic and powerful. People across sectors are asking for more – we are hearing a deep desire for connection and collaboration. Stay tuned as we reveal a big announcement in 2024!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of two new pilot programs for early childhood education! We are leading a parent circle and an educators circle, exploring how to bring Revolutionary Love to young children. We will continue to work hard behind the scenes to create educational material for everyone. Thank you to the dozens of educators and parents helping us shape the future!
