20th Racial Justice Summit: #ReImaginingUs

September 28, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm PDT

For twenty years, YWCA Madison’s Racial Justice Summit has been a space and experience that has brought people in the Madison Community together for deep learning, and invitation to action for racial justice. Building on the ongoing invitation and practice of centering Blackness as a path to build collective power and justice for all, our theme this year is Reimagining Us: Unapologetic Love, Transformative Justice, and Radical Imagination.

We are inviting you to continue co-creating a legacy of racial justice and collective liberation for future generations by deliberately seeding who we need to be as whole people in relationship with each other and Nature. In this common imperative of Reimagining Us, we offer the practices of unapologetic love, transformative justice, and radical imagination as compasses for our journey towards co-liberation.

This year’s Summit will offer a combination of virtual keynotes and online community spaces from Tuesday, September 28th through Thursday, the 30th,  as well as a limited selection of curated in-person offerings on Wednesday, September 29th at the Monona Terrace Convention Center and other locations in Wisconsin.  All Summit attendees will have access to in-person Art Offerings, and the Rooftop Party on Wednesday, September 29th.

Some of the featured keynote speakers will be: Valarie Kaur, Mariame Kaba, Darnell Moore, Mia Mingus, Dr. Joy Degruy, Tokata Iron Eyes, Raelyn Williams and adrienne maree brown. More speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. Please join us as we reimagine our world as we know it.

**All virtual keynotes will feature American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation and captioning in English**

REGISTRATION IS OPEN – This year with an expanded offer of tickets including special discounts for groups of six or more people registering together, young adults (18-25 years old) and more.

Don’t miss out on this powerful experience of unapologetic love, transformative justice and radical imagination!
