ABOUT THE EVENT:
The Washoe Land Back Festival Fundraiser is a community gathering in support of the Washoe Tribe and their land back efforts. Held on the Washoe homelands in the Tahoe Basin, this event will bring the community together for an evening of revolutionary love, healing, music, and celebration.
In solidarity with the Washoe Tribe, and with the support of the Buryat Tribe of Mongolia, and the Nisenan, Miwak, and the Northern Paiute of the Sierras, the gathering will bring the community together to drive awareness and center collective prayer for the land and the people of the Sierras, building momentum for a broader movement for societal change. All proceeds from the event will support to the tribe’s Land Back efforts and their intitiative to build the Washoe People’s House, a spiritual gathering house dedicated to ceremony, prayer, and cultural teachings of the Washoe.
