Wow, Louisville! Thank you for all your love!
Festival of Faiths is a model for cities all across the country — a multi-faith gathering of music, sermons, stories , teaching and dialogue all advancing a vision of Sacred Belonging, a vision that is urgent right now. It was an honor to deliver the keynote with Qais Essar, master of the rabab.
Highlights from last night:
Taking the audience on a journey through time with music, poetry, stories & ancestral wisdom culminating in a battle-cry: We must fight authoritarian violence with #RevolutionaryLove.
My beloved Sikh sister Aasees Kaur of The Sikh Coalition, and her entire Cincinnati crew who drove two hours to be there!
A deep honor to meet Imam Ayman Soliman, sage leader, a Muslim chaplain from Cincinnati who was detained by ICE for 73 days in horrific conditions and brought comfort and community to his fellow prisoners inside those walls.
The high school students teaching us all how to become good ancestors! @futureancestors502
All the stories and tears ♥️
Reunion with my wise women Sharon Brous and Katharine Henderson
Staying up late debriefing with the tireless Emma Kieran, our longtime volunteer, now officially on staff at The Revolutionary Love Project!
TY for helping me represent South Asian artists wherever I go @theother.style
