To have an entire city read your book…and gather for one special night to talk about it!
Wow, Tacoma! Thank you for the overwhelming reception! I’m grateful to the Mayor of Tacoma for selecting See No Stranger for this year’s Tacoma Reads, and to the Tacoma Library for hosting this stunning night. We talked about the ideas in the book— and how to put Revolutionary Love into practice. It ended with a battle-cry. I will never forget your energy and resolve, and joy.
It has been so moving to me to see so many of you pick up See No Stranger as a guide right now. You are reading for the first time, re-reading, passing it on, and gathering as a community. Tacoma is the second city to read this book together after Boulder this year.
When the nation feels overwhelming, I believe we can turn to the place we are— our local community— as a practice space for the world we want. We need liberation experiments everywhere. I’m so glad you can use See No Stranger as a blueprint for how to lead with love. ♥️
