✨ Our Revolutionary Love Tour kicks off in Los Angeles, marking the beginning of a journey across 45+ cities, free and open to all. ✨
Our first gathering took place at the Japanese American National Museum, a site filled with deep significance and resilience. Decades ago, this very street saw Japanese Americans forcibly taken onto buses to be interned during WWII. Today, on that same ground, our Revolutionary Love Bus stands, ready to carry a message of humanity, courage, and love across the nation.
The evening unfolded with a powerful lineup of voices and performances. @alokvmenon brought their visionary poetry, reminding us to embrace all parts of ourselves, including the brokenness, as a path to wholeness. @rainnwilson shared how a teacher’s faith in him transformed his life, underscoring the need for a spiritual revolution rooted in love. @beausia moved us with a poem calling for courage and vulnerability, urging us to hold each other close through life’s challenges with the simple phrase, “Stay With Us.”
Shepard Fairey, known as @obeygiant, shared his story of transforming despair into art and community, presenting alongside me the beautiful Revolutionary Love Compass he designed — a gift to every audience member across the country.
As I shared wisdom from my new book Sage Warrior, my beloved musician friends brought it to life. @jasvir.rababan played the dilruba, @qaisessar performed on the rabab and guitar, @iamsonnysingh sang with his trumpet and harmonium, and @neel.k.agrawal led on percussion, joined by his student, my son, 9-year-old Kavi. At the end, my children Kavi and Ananda serenaded the audience with “World of Wonder,” a reminder that love and being loved is our birthright.
Just before our departure, faith leaders gathered to bless our bus, offering their protection and courage for the journey ahead. Thank you, Dr. Lo Sprague of @guibordcenter, for this profound act of witness and love. You fortified us with blessings at our back as we begin this journey.
Now, we board the bus and head out to 40+ cities in the heart of election season, gathering communities in courage, humanity, and revolutionary love.
